Dr. Thomas Truninger grew up in the city of Zurich, where he also graduated summa cum laude in dentistry from the University of Zurich in 2003. This was followed by several years as an assistant dentist in the field of periodontology, implantology and preventive dentistry in Zurich.
He then completed several years of structured full-time training at the renowned Clinic for Reconstructive Dentistry under Prof. Christoph Hämmerle at the University of Zurich, which he completed in 2011 with the specialist title for Reconstructive Dentistry SSO/SSRD. With the additional continuing education certificate (WBA) in General Dentistry SSO and the continuing education certificate (WBA) in Oral Implantology SSO, he has been considered a highly qualified expert for years.
From 2011 to 2014, Dr. Truninger was a dentist, lecturer and examination expert at the Prophylaxis Center Zurich (Dental Hygienist School) in the field of periodontology. Since 2013, he has also been working as a senior physician (part-time) at the University of Zurich in the practical surgical training of prospective specialists. He thus also contributes his expertise and experience to teaching.
Dr. Truninger is the author of several international scientific publications and a speaker in the field of implantology and esthetic dentistry. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Alliance for Implant dentistry, a body of highly qualified dentists dedicated to improving the quality of implant dentistry in Switzerland.
He is also project manager for dental aid projects in Africa (Secours Dentaire International SDI) and speaks seven languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Greek). During his studies, he worked as a diving instructor in the Galapagos Islands and traveled South America by bicycle with his wife before the birth of their daughter.
As a recognized expert, he is one of the few dentists in Switzerland to perform highly complex implantology procedures based on autologous bone. Through constant further training at home and abroad and his networking with the university, he integrates the latest scientific findings into his daily work. This in order to live up to the responsibility and trust that his patients place in him.
